My 'Meet the Artist' photo for Auto Amor

'Pittenweem Garden' painting in Firefly Gallery's autumn show
I was delighted to have my first submission to Auto Amor selected for their ‘Harvest’ exhibition, running now at Auto Amor HQ in Sevenoaks, Kent. My Harvest painting is of Sclattie Quarry Allotments in Aberdeen – allotments being a favourite subject of mine to draw and paint, I do like a lot going on in a scene!
The Auto Amor Project is quite a different approach to exhibitions – it’s an open-call programme where artists buy a board, make work on it, and submit to multiple open calls across the UK. Selected works (blind judged) are exhibited, offered for sale, or swapped between exhibiting artists. Go to autoamor.co.uk to find out more about it.
There’s also still time to take in the Big Art Show 2026 at the Art Department in Paisley, another big, inclusive and joy-filled collection of art that runs until 14th November. See art-department.org/bigartshow
And finally, Saturday 17th October is the last chance to see my works in Firefly Gallery’s autumn show. A lovely wee space in the town of Bo’ness, it's always a pleasure to be part of their exhibition programme. Find it at Firefly on Facebook or @firefly_design_ on Instagram.
